James Brazelton was born on January 5, 1919 in Brownsboro, AL. He entered service on January 21, 1942. As a Laboratory Technician with the 79th Fighter Group in the Army Air Force, Sergeant Brazelton saw duty in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Sicily, Rome, the Po Valley in Northern Italy, Southern France, and Central Europe. During this service, Sergeant Brazleton was awarded the nation’s highest award for heroism not involving contact with the enemy, the Soldiers Medal. Sergeant Brazelton left the Army Air Force on August 27, 1945.
