In August 2025, the Madison County Military Heritage Commission partnered with the Space & Missile Defense Symposium to host a special Whiskey Night fundraiser in Huntsville. Guests enjoyed curated tastings and fellowship while raising funds to support MCMHC’s mission of honoring local veterans and preserving Madison County’s military heritage. We raised $3,000 toward the Price Of Freedom Scholarship project (https://pofscholarship.org). Inductees for the 2023 Hall of Heroes:

• Col. (retired) Roy Adams, who served in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm and received a Bronze Star Medal with “V”
• James Andrews, a former Marine who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and received the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal with “V”
• Col. (retired) William Johnson, who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and received an Army Commendation Medal with “V”
• Ronald Wright, who served in Vietnam as an Army medic and was the recipient of a Distinguished Service Cross and Purple Heart
