Ricketts Sr., Lloyd W.

Corporal Lloyd Ricketts was assigned as a Military Policeman at the newly completed War Department Pentagon Building in Arlington, VA in 1942. On October 24, 1942, Corporal Ricketts observed two armed men threatning a civilian worker. Corporal Ricketts quickly intervened, placing himself in danger to save the worker. For his heroic actions on this date, Corporal Lloyd Ricketts was recognized by President Roosevelt and awarded the Soldier's Medal, the nation's highest valor award for non-combat heroism.
