Mackey, Marcus

William Marcus Mackey was born on 1 February 1974 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He joined the US Army  on 20 August 1992, training in the Transportation Corps.SFC Mackey served in Somalia, Bosnia, Iraq and Norway. During his assignment in Iraq with the 89th Transportation Company, Staff Sergeant Mackey was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with "V" Device for heroism against an enemy ambush force and was also awarded the Purple Heart for wounds in that action. Marcus Mackey now works on Redstone Arsenal at USASAC headquarters, which is the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command– “The Army’s Face to the World”, implements Army security assistance programs, including Foreign Military Sales of defense articles and services to eligible foreign governments.
